IMDAS

IngentaCal Mechanical Design & Simulation

FRAME DESIGNER

IMDAS Frame Designer is a comprehensive and integrated finite element analysis and design software that includes a user interface, visualization capabilities, and design codes.

It is capable of analyzing any structure exposed to Static / Dynamic loads.

IMDAS includes a comprehensive database of standard hot-rolled and cold-rolled cross-sections, such as

  • Beams - ISMB, ISMC, ISWB

  • Channels – ISMC, ISJC

  • Hollow Sections - CHS, SHS & RHS.

Users can select predefined sections with their corresponding properties, including dimensions, mass, and section properties, for efficient structural modelling and analysis.

IMDAS has the capability to handle various structural loading conditions, including forces, moments and uniform loads. It enables precise analysis and design by accounting for these forces effectively.

IMDAS has a meshing capability that allows users to discretize structural models into nodes and elements for finite element analysis (FEA). This feature enables accurate simulation of structural behavior under various loading conditions.

IMDAS leverages Code Aster solver for advanced finite element analysis, ensuring accurate and reliable structural simulations for engineering applications.

Code Aster is an open-source finite element analysis (FEA) software developed by EDF for structural and thermal simulations. It provides powerful tools for linear and nonlinear analysis, including static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue, and contact problems.

IMDAS offers post-processing tools, enabling the visualization of Shear Force, Bending Moment and Stress distributions, assisting in structural integrity assessment, design optimization, and compliance with engineering standards.

IMDAS automates the compliance check of steel structures by verifying structural strength, stability, and serviceability using the

IS 800-2007 limit state method and ensuring the design integrity of cold-formed light-gauge steel structures as per IS 801-1975.

IMDAS provides Utilization Ratio plots, enabling engineers to assess structural efficiency, identify overstressed regions, and optimize designs for compliance with safety standards.
